Digital ambient light sensor for accurate light-intensity measurement in Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi and IoT projects. The GY-302 uses the BH1750 sensor to provide direct illumination readings in lux through an I2C interface, eliminating the analogue calculations normally required with LDR sensors.

The GY-302 BH1750 Digital Light Intensity Sensor Module is a high-precision ambient light sensor designed to measure illumination directly in lux (lx). It uses the BH1750 digital light sensor and communicates with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi and other microcontrollers through the I2C interface.
Unlike basic LDR light sensors that provide an analogue resistance change, the BH1750 contains an integrated 16-bit ADC and provides digital light-intensity readings directly. This makes it easier to obtain consistent measurements for automatic lighting, environmental monitoring, smart agriculture and IoT applications.
The GY-302 supports a wide measurement range of approximately 1–65,535 lux, with high-resolution measurement modes capable of resolutions down to approximately 0.5 lux. Its spectral response is designed to approximate the sensitivity of the human eye, making it suitable for measuring visible ambient brightness.
The module also provides an ADDR pin, allowing selection between two I2C addresses so that two BH1750 sensors can be connected to the same I2C bus.
